Don was aware that if he didn’t act quickly, the dog plunged into the icy waters of Ellicott Creek Park and would not make it. He had to save her!

Don, not wanting to wait for help and hoping he could reach the pup before it was too late, hastily plunged himself waist-deep into the freezing water – according to WKBW News.

He attempted to traverse the slippery surface of the lake, yet it was too fragile and cracked beneath his weight, sending him plummeting into its frigid depths up to his waist.

As Don told WKBW News, “I knew it wasn’t especially deep here; I used to come here when I was a child.”

According to the news station, a quivering pooch was then taken for medical attention.
