Abandoned Skinny Canine Endures 4 Years of Solitude Chained to a Tree

Earlier this year, a helpless puppy was discovered on a farm in central Georgia. With no food, no bed, and no protection, the poor canine had been neglected for four years.

The dog was left outside to suffer through all kinds of weather. He was constantly exposed to the sun and rain, leaving him hungry and thirsty. The emaciated pup weighed only 11 kg, while a healthy Pit Bull of his size should be around 20 kg. Additionally, he had bruises all over his body.

Upon receiving an anonymous complaint, the local rescue team from Cordele Animal Shelter went to find the dog. After locating him, they shared his heartbreaking story on social media, along with some heart-wrenching photos.

A rescuer from Cordele Animal Shelter said, “This unfortunate animal really needs a new home where he may reunite with his long-lost love. This vulnerable puppy urgently needs a new home where he will be adequately cared for.”

Though life hadn’t been easy for the puppy, originally named “Cocaine,” things took a turn for the better after his rescue. He was quickly adopted and given a new name, “Hero,” to honor his bravery and resilience.

Thanks to his new owner’s love and affection, Hero has undergone a remarkable transformation. His adoptive mother shared her experience on Facebook, saying, “He was amazing; I gave him a small meal and put the bed in his kennel; he came in and settled himself; it had night lights and a radio.”

Now, Hero can finally enjoy the life he deserves – one filled with love, care, and the warmth of a new family.
