Adorable Puppy With Six Legs Defies the Odds and Finds its Forever Home

The 8-week-old Labrador mix, Roo, earned her name after a ‘kangaroo’ due to her one-of-a-kind hopping ability on her hind legs. Unconventionally though, when she walks instead of using all fours like most animals do; she leans on two extra front limbs and raises the back portion of her body in the sky.

You see Roo was born with six feet – an additional two from that being seen as average for canines – making it difficult for this pup to move around like regular dogs would be able to.

When Lauren Salmon’s 15-year-old son, Luke, discovered Roo advertised by a breeder online, their family knew they had to adopt her. After all, she was born with a disability and if the breeder couldn’t find her home quickly enough then euthanasia would be inevitable for Roo.

When they eventually arrived at the farm to bring her home with them it became clear how much life this pup truly possessed when instead of cowering away in fear from strangers as one might expect; she came rushing out of her enclosure before exuberantly leaping up on both hind legs! From that moment onward it was easy to see just what kind of joy introducing Roo into their lives had already brought them–and surely will continue to do so each day moving forward as well.

When Lauren Salmon’s 15-year-old son, Luke, stumbled across Roo advertised by a breeder online, the family was all too aware that without their help this pup who had been born with a defect would likely suffer euthanasia. So they knew right away – she had to come home and stay with them.

As they arrived to welcome her into their lives, she ran out of the pen ecstatically and stood on her hind legs in sheer bliss. Her disability had no effect on how full of vigor she was – it was clear from that moment onward just how much joy and contentment this pup would provide them with.

According to Salmon, Roo is brimming with exciting puppy energy and can be characterized as both affable and cheery. The couple noted that there are few dogs like her around due to the fact that breeders often overlook them since they don’t bring in much money. Nonetheless, she’s an irreplaceable treasure to us!

Since the day Roo was welcomed into his home, he and Luke have formed an unbreakable bond. After all, they both understand what it’s like to be on the outskirts. Previously, when attending school, Luke was bullied relentlessly because of a skin condition called psoriasis that causes red patches throughout your body; now he has found solace in having a loyal companion by his side—just as does Roo!

Salmon and Dr. Noel Fitzpatrick are now collaborating to enhance Roo’s mobility, in addition to her new human family members as well as a canine sibling, two cats, and two rabbits who provide companionship. Even with the extra limbs that prevent her from ambulating naturally, she experiences no distress or discomfort whatsoever.
