For more than 365 days now, Marry – a Labrador/pit bull mix – has remained anxiously hoping for her new family to come and adopt her at The Little Guild in West Cornwall, Connecticut. The three-year-old pup is growing increasingly despondent as every passing day brings no adopters closer.
When Mary first arrived at the shelter, her face was beaming with joy. But as time progresses and her hope fades away, that beautiful smile is becoming less visible. She is a vibrant dog who craves companionship; she’s smart, devoted, high-spirited, and yearns to find her forever home–a family without cats or young kids with whom she can playfully interact with other dogs of similar energy levels.
According to the shelter, she is sure to make for an incredible addition – promising all of the perfect qualities in a companion!
She has already won over the hearts of staff, volunteers, and even a benefactor who is covering her adoption fee. All that’s left for her to find now is her forever home.
Mary’s heartbreaking plight is evident as she spends her days huddled up in a ball on her bed, refusing to make eye contact with anyone who passes by. A shelter recently released an emotional video that highlighted how long Mary has been at the facility – 384 days – and how much of her joy has dissipated due to that prolonged stay. The clip concluded: “Mary used to have such a big, beautiful smile…now it’s sadly fading away.”
In the clip, viewers were exposed to Mary’s initial beaming expression when she arrived as well as her current grief-stricken countenance.
Marry’s video has already been seen by millions of people, with many expressing hope she finds a home soon and inquiring how to adopt her.
