Blind & deaf, this shelter pup assumed no one would ever love him—until the day he met his forever family

From the moment Randi Snarr and her partner watched Petey, a blind and deaf foster pup videos, they knew he’d be filling their home with love soon. Although it can be difficult to find these special needs animal’s homes, everything fell into place perfectly for them.

While some may have felt intimidated by the idea of a special needs dog, his foster mom reassured them that he was no different than any other pup.

“Cathy Overfield, his foster mom, attested that he’s a joy to be around: ‘He loves playing with toys and taking walks; furthermore, he enjoys interacting with other pooches. He is an amiable pup who craves love and affection.'”

Randi Snarr immediately knew that Petey just wanted to love people when she first saw him. “Petey has such an adorable personality that everyone falls in love with him instantly,” said Randi.

Before offering Petey a permanent home, Randi had concerns about how her own dog Tucker would react. However, as it turned out there was no need for apprehension – Riley and her partner quickly realized the blind and deaf pup’s compatibility with their canine companion!

When Tucker and Petey encountered each other, they bonded in an instant. As if tied together by fate, the two dogs became so enamored with one another that their leashes were accidentally tangled around them as they ran and played. “They just knew,” Randi remarked joyfully when she saw how quickly the two had become inseparable best friends.

Petey may lack sight and sound, yet he more than compensates with his perceptive heart. “He has brought us a wealth of joyous learning experiences”, Randi exclaimed. “It’s evident that Petey was meant to be in this family all along.”
