One day, the family of Ellie – a one-year-old Blue Lacy living near Dallas, Texas – made the heartbreaking decision to abandon her.
Abandoned at the animal shelter, she tightly embraced her teddy bear as tears streamed down her face in confusion and fright. As recounted by ilovemydogsomuch.tv, it was an incredibly heartbreaking sight to behold.
The family had gone to great lengths to get their pet spayed, microchipped, and given all her necessary shots just months before abandoning her. Left alone in a loud and terrifying shelter with the looming threat of euthanasia due to lack of space, she was desperate for help.
Luckily, Ellie’s time in the shelter proved to be short-lived. Jennifer Jessup, a lone animal rescuer based in New York City found her through an online search and connected with her brother down in Florida who was desperately searching for a Blue Lacy dog to adopt.
Jennifer’s friend collected Ellie and brought her to a boarding facility so all the paperwork could be in order, plus she got a bath. After spending an evening there, Ellie was sent on to stay with a foster family until transported down south. Despite being much more comfortable in an actual home than at the boarding place, she still clung tightly to her teddy bear.
No matter how the foster family attempted to photograph Ellie without her beloved teddy bear, she cowered in fear. As soon as they returned it to her, however, she held onto it with a grip so tight that it seemed like she would never let go of it again.
At long last, the day had arrived when Ellie would meet her new father! TWD Transport carefully transported sweet Ellie from Texas to Florida.
After a lengthy journey, the canine was exhausted yet Dad had intended on devoting his whole day to creating an inviting atmosphere for her. It could take some time before she finally felt at home after experiencing so much chaos throughout her life.
Jennifer was certain that this place was ideal for her furry friend and his teddy bear, which she made evident with her enthusiasm!
After Ellie received copious amounts of affection and attention from her new owner, who would never consider disposing of her as the last one did, she was able to find tranquillity once more. This marks a fresh start for Ellie!
