Dogs are remarkably loyal and dedicated pets, thus they should always be loved and seen as part of the family. Unfortunately, some thoughtless owners decide to abandon their canine companions when a move occurs or for another reason arises. Despite being betrayed in such an awful way, these innocent dogs still adore their humans with all their hearts; it’s heartbreaking!
Heartbreakingly, this is what happened to Carla- a poor pup who her humans deserted in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. Despite the injustice of being abandoned and left alone in unpredictable weather conditions, Carla remained unwaveringly loyal; refusing to part ways with the area she had been dumped at and holding out hope that her family would return for her one day.
Unaware that she was no longer welcome, Carla waited for two days in a park despite the frigid temperatures. This prompted local residents to contact Janine Guido, founder, and proficient animal rescue officer, in an effort to ensure her safety.
When Janine got the call, she quickly rushed over to rescue Carla. The frightened pup was too scared for anyone to touch her or put a leash on her; so anytime someone approached, she took off running. Yet when it came to food from Janine’s hand, Carla accepted with no hesitation.
Several people tried capturing this little one but were unsuccessful as she had vanished in an instant and stayed away for several days until finally finding safety in Janine’s arms once again.
One day, Janine took to Facebook Live and shared updates about the rescue efforts. After days of dedication and determination, she finally earned Carla’s trust and was able to get her into the car.
Exhausted from being alone for so long, Carla came to recognize that Janine had come in search of help; it became clear that she could no longer go on without a helping hand—so with a newfound faith in the woman who’d been waiting patiently by her side all those days, she climbed right up onto the back seat!
After careful examination at the vet clinic, it was determined that although Carla had been underweight, she was in overall good health and without any major ailments. After this reassuring revelation, Janine took her to her foster home; a sanctuary of security, comfort, and peace where she could rest assured as she recuperated.
After Carla was provided a loving foster home with other pets, she made a full recovery. She now has the forever family of her dreams and is living life to its fullest! We can only hope that they will provide her with endless love and never have to experience abandonment again.
