Four heroic boys saved a scrawny, Abandoned Dog Tied With Bungee Cords

Detroit Pit Crew Rescue

Four brave and compassionate young heroes from Detroit recently gave an abandoned dog the second chance it deserved! Kenny (13), Kenneth (11), Kevin (7), and Andrew (7) were aiding a woman with her move when they stumbled upon a pup tied up behind an unoccupied house, secured only by elastic cords. Thanks to their mercy and benevolence, this little one is now safe in its forever home.

The kids noticed the poor pup was malnourished and famished, so they decided to take her in. One of them observed her trembling and instantly wrapped his coat around her to keep her comfortable.

When they took her home, the boys provided Sparkle with food and water to assist her. Out of affection for their new pup, they lovingly named her “Sparkle.”

While tending to the pup, Detroit Pit Crew Rescue happened to be in the area and witnessed the kids with her. Out of concern for their safety and well-being, they cautiously approached them.

Theresa Sumpter, a founder of the rescue organization, shared a heartwarming story on Facebook: “Our heroes for today! These amazing children are already off to a great start in dog rescuing. They discovered and safeguarded this pup that had been abandoned with bungee cords until we were able to get there.”

Sumpter expressed to WDIV that it was evident how much they cared for the pup – their concern only made them more insistent on finding a great home.

Sumpter filmed a brief conversation with the boys to show appreciation for their hard work, and it appears they may just be joining forces as part of the Pit Crew in upcoming missions!

Sumpter continued, “To ensure these children are adequately compensated for their hard work, we humbly request that those who wish to make a difference in the lives of Detroit’s youth donate generously to its public schools.”

When the Detroit Pit Crew Rescue initially believed Sparkle was suffering from mange, their diagnosis proved incorrect. Apart from being a little undernourished, she is in sound health. Judging by the photos and video they shared of her, it’s evident that Sparkle is an amiable pup who loves kids!
