The dog brought a bag of food to his owner every day when he discovered where it came from, he started crying. Rodrigo had always had a big heart and everyone recognized him for it. Since he was a little boy, he had shown a great willingness to help in any way he could. Rodrigo and just four years old was already washing dishes at home and feeding the birds that came daily to his yard and had already grown fond of him.
A couple of years later, when he was not at school doing his homework, he had also started to help his mother with cooking and cleaning and set an example to all the children who, on the other hand only thought about playing while their parents did everything for them.
Therefore, Rodrigo grew up as an independent child who knew how to earn his own living from a very young age, even though his parents had resources so that he did not have to work even several years later at the age of 11, Rodrigo was already working as a newspaper and mail.

Rodrigo was no longer able to fully trust her, and he still wanted a dog. That is why the young man had saved as much as he could, so that as soon as he came of age. He could leave his parents home to seek his own horizons, and so he did. He had a small house with only one room and had already bought his first pieces of furniture.
All he needed were the basics and without waiting one more day, after settling in, she went to the Animal Adoption Center where she found her new life companion.
That’s how he met Sam, a young dog of medium height that seemed to contain all breeds in him, and that’s why no one had wanted to adopt him before. But when Sam saw Rodrigo come in, he started jumping with happiness and then the young man didn’t even try to look at the other dogs.

They were very close. After six months of living together, Rodrigo could no longer conceive of life without his dog and they regretted not having been able to enjoy this experience much earlier. The experience of having a pet, but for now he had Sam and that was all that mattered. Until his father became ill and his mother required as such, his company for the man had suffered a stroke and could not fend for himself and his wife could not take care of him alone.
Rodrigo told her that she could come back to live at his house while his father recovered and his mother was delighted.
But then he told her that he had a dog and would go with him wherever he went. Then his mother flatly refused to let him take a dog home and wanted to force him to give him back up for adoption. But Rodrigo told her he could never do such a thing, so Rodrigo did not go back to his parents.
But found a place closer to where they lived so he could help them frequently. It was a very hard few months, in which Rodrigo hardly slept and divided his time between his work, taking care of his father, and not neglecting his dog. But he was so calm and felt so well that he and his mother were sure that the recovery of his beloved father and husband was very close and that little by little he would begin to fend for himself.
And it was precisely for this reason that his death took them by surprise. He had suffered a heart attack in his sleep, and they had been unable to do anything for him. Now his mother was alone and again told Rodrigo to live with her to leave the dog behind and return home to make a sacrifice for the woman who had given him life.
And he who was capable of all sacrifices for his family and would give everything for his mom, told her that everything has a limit that it would be very cruel to abandon such an innocent being that he loved so much just for a whim of his mother that it was unfair for her to ask for something like that. Then he told her that he could only promise her that he would.
Continued to live nearby and visit her daily, but that he would not give Sam away or abandon him for anything in the world.
His mother had to agree, and so time continued to pass thanks to his job. Rodrigo now had a better place to live with more space, and he had also gotten a good girlfriend who loved Sam as much as he did. Three years had passed since his father’s death, and he had not broken his promise.
He still went to visit his mother daily and everything seemed to be going very well between them. But then the mother got a new partner. The mother and son’s relationship faltered again. Her new husband didn’t want her son around, and although Rodrigo fought for a long time to keep in contact with her, his mother did absolutely nothing for him. And so Rodrigo stopped fighting.
If she wanted to see him or talk to him, she would have to seek him out. But years passed and his mother didn’t look for him.
Sometimes they would meet by chance on the street and talk briefly, but nothing more. Now she was much closer to the children of her new marriage and had moved to a much more luxurious house, and one of the best locations in the city. Meanwhile, Rodrigo had been left alone with Sam again, as his girlfriend had decided to move out of town and fulfill her dreams and had not known how to handle the distance.
But he was at ease because he lacked nothing. It had been a couple of years since he had gotten a good position in a company. And everything seemed to be going well. Rodrigo had worked at the same place for 10 years, and from one day to the next they were surprised by his dismissal.
He is a foresighted man, so he had saved to survive in case this would happen or something would happen, but the months went by and that new job was not coming even though he was only 45 years old. Every company considered him too old and didn’t give him a chance. At that time his mother had already been widowed for the second time, but she lived quietly in her luxurious. He explained to her that he had wanted to talk to her for a long time and ask her forgiveness. For the way he had behaved, but since he was not able to face him, then when she was told that something was going very wrong, she decided to help him. In this way, the only way she could find. So the two of them cried, melted in a big hug and forgave each other. Rodrigo was with his mother until his last days, and Sam was also with them.
