The tattoo that one woman got in tribute to her late dog is touching the hearts of people across the internet.
Anna Halcin’s best friend was a Sebastian, her dog. The two were inseparable and the little dog showed his affection by hugging Anna’s arms with his paws.
Anna was left distraught after her best friend Sebastian passed away in October. “He always will be special to me,” she told The Dodo. “We were absolutely best friends.”
She chose to do something unique to remember her late best friend, and she found an extremely touching way to carry out her plan.
Sebastian always loves to wrap his paws around her arm, so she got a tattoo that depicted just that.
The tattoo is a constant reminder of Sebastian, and it helps Anna feel like he’s always giving her a hug when she needs one. The grieving process is never easy, but the creative tat has helped Anna through it and will help keep Sebastian alive in her memory forever.
Anna got a tattoo of her late husband’s name shortly after he passed away. “It helps me feel like he is still with me,” she said, tearfully. “Every time I look down, it’s like he is hugging me.”
Jack & Diane’s Tattoo in Gulfport, Mississippi gave Anna her tattoo. After she posted pictures of it onto Facebook, the image quickly racked up over 72,000 shares.
Anna thanked the many users who praised her creative idea and shared personal stories about their own departed pets.
Anna expressed her gratitude on Facebook, writing “thank you for sharing this,” in reference to a post about her dog. She went on to say that he was very special to her as her first pet, and seeing the post get so much attention meant a lot. Finally, she said that he deserves all of the praise he’s been getting.
Dogs are some of the most loyal creatures on earth. They stay with us long after they die and leave this world. With Anna’s tattoo, she can always remember that her dog is still with her in spirit.
