State highway patrol troopers don’t only work to protect us humans, but they also go above and beyond to help animals. A recent act of kindness has gone viral after a trooper and Good Samaritan provided shade to a dog during extreme heat conditions.
Last week, while driving on the highway in Tennessee, Kaye Fiorello saw a dog in distress and stopped to help. Thank goodness she did!
Nearby, the woman had a caring trooper and she asked him to help care for the dog they found panting in the heat. Then, the trooper did something amazing.

The trooper, thinking only of the dog’s wellbeing, emptied his Kool-Aid to make a bowl of water. The parched dog quickly downed it all.
Not only did the trooper stop to offer water to the dog, but he went above and beyond by getting a chair and umbrella too. He used the umbrella to shade the dog from harmful sun exposure.
As Fiorello stated in a post on Facebook, the considerate trooper assured her that he would stay with the dog until it trusted him enough before taking it to a shelter.

Fiorello took to Facebook to express her belief that the dog appearing when it did was one of life’s little reminders of the good in our world. The dog is currently being treated at Cleveland Tennessee Animal Control.
Today, a considerate highway patrol trooper reminded us to take care of animals that are not our pets by giving them water and shade during this dreadful heatwave.
