While out for a brisk morning jog, a runner was unexpectedly surprised to find an abandoned pup cowering behind the shrubbery of this beloved walking path bordering the outskirts of town. It appeared that his former owners had outright deserted him and left him trembling in fear.
The jogger continued running and noticed a distressed puppy in need of help. Instantly, the pup sensed that this kind-hearted individual could be trusted, so he followed behind with an enthusiastic grin plastered across his face.
He snuggled into the shoelaces and implored to be taken somewhere secure where he would feel safe.
As the jogger cautiously caressed the pup, he realized that its presence in this isolated wilderness was unsafe. Not only were their unknown dangers lurking but even trekking to a nearby town took miles of travel!
What’s more, just 500 yards away was an intensely trafficked highway – surely much worse for the helpless pooch!
The jogger, moved by the puppy’s plight, took him home to be cleaned and provided with a hearty meal.
For the pup to live their best life, he contacted his local animal shelter and helped find them a loving forever family – just as all dogs deserve!
