Loyal Dog Refuses to Abandon Her Cardboard Box, Where Her Owner Left Her Inside.

Ten-month-old Harvest was left alone in a cardboard box, her devoted eyes fixed on the horizon as she waited patiently for someone to come back. Her faithful vigil ended when a kind soul discovered her and brought her to safety the following day.

The woman was taken aback to find Harvest sitting in the box with no sustenance or hydration on a sweltering summer day. But even under extreme 104-degree temperatures, the puppy showed astounding resilience and refused to wander away.

Patti Dawson, the President of Dallas Dog, shared that “She never budged from that box—she was optimistic and steadfastly waiting for someone to come back.”

The animal control officials were shocked when Harvest chose to remain in her makeshift crate for the entire journey to the shelter. Believing that she could be paralyzed, they had placed her inside a kennel along with her box.

The volunteers at the shelter determined that Harvest was more comfortable and secure with her box, so they decided to leave it in her kennel. As Dawson commented: “It had become a sense of safety for Harvest.”

After being brought to the shelter, Harvest meekly skulked in a corner of her kennel. “It was as if you could feel her fear,” Dawson observed, noting that she visibly trembled with fright.

Yet, Harvest was loved by all who encountered her. Despite the terror she felt, she had an amiable nature and eventually started to alter.

Harvest is now full of life and loves playing with her foster siblings, as reported by her foster mother. She enjoys cuddling up on the sofa with everyone in her family to watch TV when she’s feeling a bit blue.

After a short trial period of one week, she developed an enthusiasm that has not yet abated – according to Dawson.

Harvest’s search to find the perfect forever family is progressing rapidly, all because of Dallas Dog. Dawson commented that she was “just one of those dogs” with three meetings this week alone!

As long as Harvest continues to bask in the love of her foster family, she will never again have to endure being shut away inside a cardboard box.
