It’s not only humans that police officers look out for while on duty–animals are included in their protection as well. There have been many reports of policemen going the extra mile to save animals caught in difficult situations.

And sometimes, a pet requiring rescue turns out to be adopted by the very officer who saved them.
Last week, in what could only be described as a true Christmas miracle, a group of abandoned puppies found their forever homes.
The Tulsa Police Department in Oklahoma stated that five puppies were found abandoned and inside a zipped-up duffel bag, which was left on the counter of a QuickTrip gas station.
The officers were “overwhelmed with Christmas feelings” when they arrived on the scene and saw the puppies.

When the responding officers arrived, they and the tiny pups made an instant connection. Then, they decided to adopt the abandoned puppies themselves!
Out of the five puppies, four were adopted by Officer Cordova, Officer Pashley, Officer Perry, and Officer Johns while the last one was taken in by a QuickTrip employee – as stated in a post on Facebook from the department.
The thought of anyone abandoning their puppies is gut-wrenching, but fortunately, everything worked out in the end. These cuddly canines found good homes just before Christmas—what a holiday miracle! And as a bonus, the officers went home with an unforgettable present that they certainly weren’t expecting to receive.

The officers’ acts of kindness warmed hearts across the nation and became a feel-good story for the holidays. They interviewed on Fox & Friends with their new pets by their side.
Many people applauded the officers for their actions online. “What a beautiful ending to this story,” one person wrote. “These officers are wonderful human beings! Thank you to all of them!”
In a follow-up post, the department said the puppies were “growing fast and doing great.”
The pups have found an excellent home, and we look forward to seeing them grow up!
Sometimes, when an animal is rescued, the officer who saved them falls in love and decides to adopt them.

The department requests that anyone looking for a pet please adopt from a rescue or shelter as there are many abandoned pets in need of homes.
These officers saved these puppies from the pound just in time for Christmas!
