Stray Pit Bull Can’t Stop Smiling After Being Rescued Off The Streets

A man found more than a pet when he welcomed an abandoned pup into his life. Twelve years ago, Brinks was rejected by his owner – a pit bull puppy between 10 and 11 months old – yet this unloved pooch became the most beloved companion to another.

Jon Bozak, the rescuer of Brinks, revealed to The Dodo that “somebody had left him at the school playground the night before and he seemed unharmed. Nevertheless, it was apparent this individual desired to give up on Brinks.” Later on, Bozak’s neighbor mentioned having noticed Brinks aimlessly wandering around earlier in the evening.

The following morning, Bozak encountered Brinks on his way out of the high-rise apartment in Manhattan where he lived. Coincidentally, it just happened to be right across from the private school that had been Brink’s home before being abandoned.

Bozak recounted his experience, “As I was walking my pup Demo down the street, a large pit bull appeared from across the road and began to meander in our direction.”

Bozak was not searching for a new furry companion, as he already had his hands full with Demo – an elderly pit bull. Additionally, the pup could be choosy about which pups it got along with well.

When Brinks and Demo met, Bozak watched as the two exchanged smiles in a canine-like manner – a sure sign that they were going to get along quite well.

Bozak noticed something special about Brinks the moment he got in the car – instead of jumping into the back seat, Brinks hopped onto the front seat and paid no attention to him.

As he peered out the window, a mysterious smile crept across his face. At first, I thought to myself: “This is impossible! Is a dog smiling? That’s insane!” After all, who wants another 65-pound pit bull in their life? But Brinks was so remarkable that it was hard not to take him home with us.

After posting flyers around the area to verify that no one was frantically searching for Brinks and receiving no reply, Bozak chose to become Brinks’ new guardian, making him an eternal part of the family.

Bozak attested, “He does smile and grin – it’s a submissive sort of smirk but also conveys joy when the occasion arises. If there’s a treat involved, he’ll give you that winning smile! Even while napping next to you, his lips will curl into an unmistakable grin.”

Bozak happily described Brinks as an incredibly communicative canine, whose wide grins and cheerful disposition displayed his joy. Before Demo, the elder dog passed away after six years with them both, they were a happy pair. Although Brinks is now living solo, Bozak expresses no reservations about how her pup is coping without any siblings.

Brinks, the beloved pit bull, will be celebrating his 13th birthday in December and is more joyful than ever. According to Bozak, he’s been around “the most confident dog” of all time. He relishes every moment of living a life so filled with love and happiness!
