Woman’s Kind Heart Rescues Shivering Pups, Found Abandoned at Roadside in Cold Weather

While driving along a road, most people don’t expect to see a puppy. Luckily, a woman in Greece spotted two little puppies huddled together in the grass.

She knew she had to help them, so she contacted Takis from Takis Shelter. He arrived as fast as he could, aware that time was crucial. Cold weather can be dangerous for stray animals without a warm place to stay. The wet puppies were at risk of getting hypothermia because they couldn’t dry off.

Thankfully, Takis and his team found the puppies quickly. The puppies were very young, just a few weeks old. “They weigh nothing,” said a rescuer as he lifted one. The puppies shivered uncontrollably when the team picked them up. “They were so lucky that you saw them,” Takis told the woman who had spotted them from the road.

The team members gently picked up the shaking puppies and held them close to their chests. Takis took the two puppies to his shelter in his car, where they could get warm and make friends with other puppies.

With the help of Takis and the kind woman who noticed them by the roadside, the two cute puppies were finally safe. Once they had recovered from their ordeal, they could look forward to finding happy, loving forever homes.
