Nirvana longed for her family’s return with every sunrise, as she was left in a desolate lot near a car wash. With only a thin blanket and some food to keep her company, the devoted pup curled up on the hard ground each night awaiting their homecoming. Exhausted from waiting day after day, her hope of being reunited with them kept diminishing…
As Suzette Hall, creator of Logan’s Legacy dog rescue relayed to The Dodo: “She had been in that state for two days.”
When the workers from the nearby car wash noticed a dog sleeping on the curb and concluded that her food supply was insufficient, they put out fresh kibble and contacted Hall for assistance.
As soon as Nirvana saw the meal that was prepared for her, she quickly wolfed it down before retreating to an abandoned lot where she would spend most of her two-day stay sleeping. When Hall finally arrived at the site, poor Nirvana could barely rouse herself from exhaustion and lethargy.
Hall expressed his astonishment when he saw how fatigued she was from waiting, remarking, “She was so sleepy.”
As Hall approached Nirvana, her caution was palpable. Though the pup was exhausted from her ordeal, she managed to stand and met the rescuer with an unmistakable gesture of gratitude. “I got a leash around her,” he said with a smile that stretched across his face, “and then she just wiggled her butt – as if thanking me for coming to save her.”
Hall took Nirvana to the veterinary clinic right away. After a soothing bath, Hall noticed an immediate change in her pet’s mood and behavior. She said of the experience: “It was incredible how quickly that wash seemed to just erase all traces of sadness from him.”
As soon as Nirvana arrived at the animal hospital, it was clear that she stood out from the rest. The vet team had seen many pets in their time, but they all agreed that there was something special about her sweet spirit. “She’s one of a kind,” Hall gushed with admiration. “Such an angel!”
A specially allotted kennel was arranged for her, and the pup was comfortably settled in to begin healing. Even though Nirvana seemed well-being overall, a broken heart weighed on her spirit and the vet team made sure to mend it.
Within several days, Nirvana was happily placed in a loving foster home that could begin to make her forget the grief of her past.
According to Hall, her foster mom is utterly smitten with her. She even enjoys cuddling up during the night in bed with her foster mom.
Nirvana enjoys not only cuddling with her new beloved companion, but she has a newfound enthusiasm for life that is reflected in the numerous times she goes on long walks or hikes. Her playful energy radiates through even more now as evidenced by her many zoomies!
“She’s overflowing with energy and needs to get her daily walks to expend some of that enthusiasm!” Hall exclaimed. “It’s amazing how vivacious she is – always joking around, full of playfulness, and never short on happiness.”
Nirvana may not have found her permanent home yet, but she’s making sure to show her immense appreciation and love for her foster parents and rescuers.
Hall commented, “She’s incredibly grateful and full of appreciation.”
