Just a few years ago, Drax was barely surviving on the streets and never knew if he could make it each day. But now, every morning this pup wakes up feeling loved and secure – something he never thought imaginable before.
As Drax suffered from extreme hunger, his body became dangerously emaciated and he was filled with the perpetual fear of when – or if – he would ever receive sustenance again.
With Charmaine Hulley’s adoption, Drax has been living his best life ever since. He may even have been indulging a bit too much in the goodness of it all!
Two years ago, Hulley’s sister couldn’t help but notice an unaccompanied pup in a frail and distressed state outside a supermarket. After discussing it with her husband, she decided to bring the canine home and provide him with the much-needed care he deserved.
In the end, it was Hulley who welcomed Drax into her home and became his mother. When she was visiting her sister at their brother-in-law’s house one day, they found a starving stray in the supermarket parking lot; upon seeing this fragile creature, Hulley immediately felt compelled to take care of him.
Drax was so scared that he couldn’t even bring himself to make eye contact with anyone, and yet despite his hunger, the fear in him rendered him unable to eat.
Without hesitation, Hulley dedicated himself to restoring his physical and mental well-being by attending to his diet, health, and emotional states.
Thanks to Hulley’s loving attention, Drax experienced a substantial improvement in his health and well-being. Subsequently, when Hulley decided to move out of her sister’s residence and live with her boyfriend instead, she happily took Drax along with her.
Filling his days with boundless love, safety, and nourishment, Drax was living a life of pure bliss in Hulley’s home. Surrounded by her partner Taylor and four other rescue dogs alike, nothing could have made him happier than the warm embrace that their family provided.
However, Drax soon discovered that too much of a good thing can be detrimental. After Hulley moved to her mother’s house for some time, leaving Taylor and Drax alone at home, the latter began gaining weight uncontrollably.
Due to Taylor’s extended work hours, Drax’s diet began taking a backseat, and he would often feast on human food such as steak and KFC. His lack of structure regarding his meal plan resulted in him eating too much – delicious though it may have been!
When Taylor and Drax arrived at Hulley’s home for the weekend, he was beside himself with joy to get to interact and play games with his adoptive brothers and sisters.
As Drax was playing, he happened to get his bulky body stuck in the doggy door and ended up ripping it clean off of the wall. Unfazed by this misstep, he took a victory lap around the house with the newly acquired accessory wrapped snugly around his waistline.
Hulley has requested that Taylor rein in the little chubster’s diet before he becomes too large for any more doors. She confided to Unilad, “He professes to be cutting back on his food intake, but I’m not sure if it is actually taking place or just idle talk…”
It’s bizarre to think that as recently as two years ago, Drax would never have fathomed the prospect of having an abundance of food one day.
With the aid of his devoted parents, this formerly frightened and frail pup has advanced significantly. We anticipate that before too long, he will be fit as a fiddle with their ongoing support!
