In Taiwan, a heart-wrenching story starring an adorable, loyal dog has gone viral. The faithful pooch waited outside a store for nearly six months, hoping for its owner’s return, not understanding that it had been abandoned.

Monte Wu, a passerby, spotted the dog outside the supermarket. Unable to ignore the touching sight, she filmed the dog and shared the scene on Facebook. According to locals, the dog was left behind by a van driver.

The incident occurred about six months ago on a street in Taiping district, Taichung city. The dog’s owner callously discarded the animal and drove away, never to return. Since then, the dog has stayed at the exact spot where it last saw its owner, waiting faithfully for his return.

Moved by the dog’s loyalty, Ms. Wu posted the video on a public Facebook group. The post quickly went viral. She hoped to find a kind-hearted person who could adopt the abandoned animal and provide it with a loving home.

Wu explained that she couldn’t adopt the dog herself but hoped her Facebook post would help find a family for it. “When it’s so cold, he must miss having a warm home. I want to ask on his behalf if someone could provide him with a house to live in,” Wu wrote.

After sharing the video and writing these heartfelt words, many Facebook users expressed interest in the little dog. In the end, Wu’s wish came true.

The abandoned dog didn’t have to spend New Year’s outside the supermarket. It was adopted and spent the night in what will now be its warm, loving home.
