Elephant with bullet lodged in head runs up to humans and asks for help

Elephants are stunning, kind, and sensitive animals that are the epitome of the term “gentle giant.”

These animals are unique in that they adore people, and many rescued elephants can develop enduring relationships with their caregivers. An elephant is claimed to be able to remember someone they meet just once for the rest of their lives, according to the proverb “an elephant never forgets”

But despite the fact that these gentle giants wouldn’t hurt a fly, some people continue to think it’s acceptable to abuse or kill elephants, frequently in order to obtain their valuable tusks. Although the sale of ivory is outlawed in many nations, poachers nevertheless make a significant profit by selling their products there. Tragically, this activity is still very much a problem today.

The elephant in the following tale was sadly shot in the head by poachers, and the bullet narrowly missed killing him. But fortunately, he knew who to turn to for assistance, and he went on to make a fantastic recovery.

Inside Edition captured the moment a wounded elephant approached physicians and requested first aid in a video that was uploaded to YouTube. The poor animal must have been in such agony that he had no choice but to immediately place his complete faith in the medical staff in the hopes that they could relieve his suffering.

The elephant, known as Pretty Boy, has a significant wound where the bullet entered his head after being shot in the head by poachers.

Amazingly, the courageous elephant managed to approach physicians and demonstrate the issue despite having a bullet stuck in his skull.

The doctors moved quickly to try and save Pretty Boy, but it would be challenging because he was such a big animal. The first thing to do was to tranquilize the elephant with a little dart, which would make him feel at ease and relaxed. The medical staff may then begin their work.

Doctors immediately began treatment in an effort to rescue Pretty Boy, but it would be challenging due to his size. To make the elephant feel calm and relaxed, the first step was to tranquilize him with a little dart. After that, the doctors could start their work.

Instantaneously, they discovered the misaligned bullet in the elephant’s skull and came to an incredible realization. The vets thought Pretty Boy was only a few centimeters higher than what is considered a “death shot” by a hunter. He would have died right away if the shot had fallen a little lower.

The veterinarians operated on the lucky elephant to remove the bullet while he was still sedated.

When they were finished, they waited until Pretty Boy awoke to ensure he was doing well after the surgery. But the elephant was still tired, and he had only made it a couple of steps before falling asleep with his trunk against a tree.
