Lucky, a Labrador Retriever, faced a terrifying experience during the floods in Conway, South Carolina. As water entered people’s homes, Lucky’s family evacuated quickly but didn’t make any effort to save him.

The poor pup cried helplessly, trapped in the flooded house for days with no way to escape. Once the rain stopped one morning, local resident Alex Scroggins and his friends went to the area to salvage what they could from their damaged homes.

Realizing that Lucky would be swept away if left behind, Alex approached the hungry, scared dog. Grateful for the attention, Lucky begged to be rescued. Alex comforted him, scooped him up, and placed him in a crate. Using a couch he had found, Alex managed to get the anxious dog out of the dangerous situation.

Initially, Lucky was taken to various animal shelters, but all were overwhelmed due to the floods. Eventually, Alex decided to keep Lucky himself.
