Lost Dog Finds Comfort In Flowerbed, Saved After Enjoying Some Hot Soup

On a dreary January day in Malvern, Pennsylvania, Karen’s heart melted when she spotted a white furry pup huddled in her flower bed. The poor thing was wet, filthy, and quivering – desperate for some tenderness and care.

Karen was worried about her sudden guest, so she graciously brought out a blue blanket and served the dog a hearty bowl of steaming chicken soup. The pup gratefully gobbled up the food before leaving – giving Karen enough time to call Buddha Dog Rescue & Recovery for assistance.

Rescuer Nicole Asher heard Karen’s plea and provided her with a simple solution–leave food outside. It worked! The dog returned, contentedly snuggling into the warm blanket for most of the day. People from Buddha Dog Rescue & Recovery shared this heartwarming story on their Facebook page.

After Asher and her team arrived later that day to set up the kennel trap, they sat back in anticipation of the dog taking the bait. Much to their delight, at 9:50 PM – after a long rest – the pup ventured right over to where they had set up their trap! An ecstatic post on Facebook followed shortly thereafter.

Moments later, she was secured and out of harm’s way. As they examined the dog more closely, the rescuers were elated to find an identification tag with her name – ELLA – and contact information for her rescue on its collar!

To everyone’s surprise, Ella had already been saved by MatchDog Rescue; the tag she wore revealed this information. After escaping her foster home two weeks before being found again, it was incredible to discover that she had journeyed twelve miles in search of safety!

When MatchDog Rescue was informed of the surprise, they were ecstatic. According to Asher, after a moment of disbelief, tears and joy filled the air.

Asher, MatchDog Rescue’s president, came to Ella and brought her home for recovery and downtime. Astonishingly enough, she quickly adapted to the new environment and is now a total couch potato!

Overjoyed, Asher exclaimed, “What a heartwarming conclusion!” But little did he know that Ella’s blissful ending was just beginning.

When Ella was finally brought back to MatchDog Rescue, they shared her remarkable story on their Facebook page. She originally lived as a street dog in Mexico and depended solely upon the kindness of factory workers and locals near where she stayed. Her luck changed when those same people noticed that she was pregnant, thus alerting a rescuer living nearby.

The rescuer was able to get in touch with MatchDog, who then helped coordinate the transportation of Ella to the vet after her puppies were born. For five whole months, they made sure she had all that she needed; food, care, and even love! Both Ella and each one of her pups could be saved thanks to MatchDog Rescue. They provided medical attention for them until these angels found their homes.

After moving to the United States in search of a permanent home, Ella disappeared without warning. Fortunately, MatchDog was able to locate her and share that she is blessed with an “innate kindness and gentleness” – something we have all grown to admire about her.

Thankfully, Ella was eventually recovered from her traumatic experience and made available for adoption by the end of January.

On February 8, Ella’s life was forever changed when she found a permanent home – and what a joyous occasion it was! After weeks of living in her temporary abode, Ella has been adopted. She certainly deserves this happy ending!
