In 2015, Wall-E was a pup when he found his forever home with the help of Maricopa County Animal Care and Control (MCACC). His loving family nurtured him back to health, filled his days with joyous outdoor activities, and showered him with unlimited treats and toys.
On a fateful day in September, all of Wall-E’s belongings were lumped into two plastic garbage bags. The 6-year-old pup was at a loss as to why his owner had brought him back to the Arizona shelter and why they both were weeping while saying goodbye.
Wall-E was filled with misery and loneliness, for once again he found himself completely alone.

Wall-E’s family was no longer able to provide the care and attention he deserved, so they sadly surrendered him. According to Jordan Bader of MCACC’s Adoptable Dogs Facebook page, Wall-E was understandably anxious in his kennel; barking consistently out of fear. It broke their hearts – but gave us all hope that a loving home awaits little Wall-E!
The shelter was a world away from being anything close to resembling a dog hotel, and Wall-E could not bring his favorite toys or bed with him in the kennel. He felt empty and despondent as he thought about how much had changed since his former life of comfort and safety with people who promised to love him unconditionally.
As hopeful adopters strolled past Wall-E’s small enclosure, they could not perceive past his defensive barricade and did not recognize the precious pup underneath. Nevertheless, shelter workers believed him as an amiable dog hidden behind the confines of his cage awaiting someone to discover who he truly was.

Bader reported that many humans overlooked him due to his timid behavior in the kennel. Nevertheless, those who took time to get acquainted with him soon realized he was a friendly and playful pup bursting with energy- just watch out for the zoomies!
After two long months with no sign of a prospective home, Wall-E had given up hope until Bader stepped in and decided to tell his story. This proved to be the perfect move – by showcasing Wall-E’s personality and plight on social media, he was soon adopted into the loving home he deserved!
Along with six other volunteers, Bader runs a Facebook page where they network to help shelter dogs. Knowing that this particular photo of the sweet pup would be heartbreaking and attract attention, the team was astonished by how quickly it spread across social media platforms like wildfire: within days, there were scores of people interested in adopting him!
Touched by the photo, Lynn Lee immediately made her way to the shelter with one thought in mind: meeting Wall-E.

Lee came with her four-legged companion and the bond between Wall-E and Lee’s pet was so strong that a day after his picture went online, he happily accepted an invitation to start a loving new life.
Bader expressed his utmost delight, stating that “Wall-E has been nothing short of amazing. He’s perfect for our family – loves going to dog parks and snuggling up with us.”
Now with his loving mom, Wall-E is starting to show off his personality and adjusting quickly to sleeping in a new doggy bed.
