Wesley White stumbled upon an unlikely source of a furry companion – and it changed his life forever. Shelters, neighborhoods; people are discovering new pets in more ways than one. Little did he know that this particular pet would make such an impact on him!
While exploring a remote island, Wesley stumbled across an emaciated pup and decided to name him Winston. After some deliberation, he chose to take the helpless pooch home with him!
As Wesley kayaked past a remote Belize island, something caught his eye: an abandoned fishing shack. Approaching closer and peering inside, he noticed a frail dog–malnourished with nothing to eat in sight. How the poor animal ended up so far away from civilization remains uncertain to this day.
With a generous heart, Wesley knew he had to do something for the dog. He asked if anyone else was on the island but no one answered back. At that moment, it became clear to him – this canine had been forsaken and left all alone in this desolate place. It was up to Wesley now; he vowed to be its protector.
As much as Wesley wanted to come to the rescue, he was up against a ticking clock. In 36 hours, his time in Belize would be coming to an end – could he save the hapless animal before having to leave?
Taking the pup on a kayak ride across to shore would be an easy task, however, he was concerned about making sure his furry friend’s arrangements were in order before setting sail.
Gratefully, the people at Wesley’s hotel lent a helping hand and showed kindness to both him and Winston. Through their help, he was able to take Winston to Dr. Mia for the much-needed medical attention that this four-legged castaway required. Although Wesley left Belize with an intention of returning one day with his pup, fortuitously he found a foster home in the meantime for Winton until his return trip could be arranged.
Dr. Mia kept Wesley abreast of Winston’s progress, and the pup made an extraordinary comeback! Delighted, Wesley welcomed Winston back into his life when he returned to Belize–and this time around they’d be moving together––to the US. Needless to say, it was a much better option than an isolated island for Winston who fell in love with their new home instantly!
Winston’s story is nothing short of inspirational. A young man found a lost and abandoned dog, and despite the odds, he showed immense kindness which was truly remarkable.
