Jessie Springer from New Mexico was heartbroken after the sudden disappearance of her beloved Jack Russell/Pug mix, Nugget. Little did she know that seven years later, the loyal pooch would be found quite far away from home.

She was crushed. “That’s my beloved OG snug nug”, she revealed to WXIA, with a deep sigh of despair. Desperate for any hope, she contacted the shelters and vets – checking every few days in case something changed – yet nothing did.

Time flew by, and Jessie assumed she would never encounter her friend again — until one day, an unexpected call came through. On February 9th, Jennifer from South Carolina noticed a poorly groomed pup near her residence when she stepped out of the door.

Jennifer couldn’t believe her eyes when, within two minutes of sitting down to relax, she spotted something strange and awkward moving in the darkness. Not wasting a moment, she threw on her shoes and grabbed her phone with its handy flashlight before sprinting out into the pouring rain. There was no time for questions as she quickly scooped up this mysterious creature and carried him inside where it could be safe from the elements.

Jennifer brought the exhausted pup to the veterinary hospital, where they discovered a microchip. To their surprise, it was Nugget — now 16 years old and an astonishing 1,700 miles away from his home after 7 years of being absent!

Jessie was taken aback when the vet called with a startling revelation. In disbelief, she inquired about the pet in question and soon found out that it was an innocent little yellow pup named Nugget – causing her to break into tears instantly.
