Happy Newly-Wed Couple Decided To Adopt A Stray Dog That Crashed Their Wedding Ceremony

Crashing a wedding and stealing attention from the bride are both major party fouls. But one dog in Brazil didn’t seem to mind committing either offense.

On July 2, Tamíris Muzini and Douglas Robert exchanged vows in Vila Velha, Brazil. Shortly after the ceremony began, a stray dog wandered into the church as he belonged there – much to the surprise of the 150 invited guests.

Before the ceremony started, the dog entered the church and went straight upstairs to meet the groom and guests, Muzini, an interior designer told the Post. The pooch then headed back downstairs, laying just outside the door to the church.

“He stayed there patiently waiting for me to enter,” Muzini added. As the crowd turned to watch her walk down the aisle, they were charmed by the sight of the dog doing the same. “Everyone was delighted with him because he is very cute and appeared totally relaxed,” she said.

The pup’s broken foreleg caused him to limp slightly, but that didn’t stop him from running up to Muzini and Robert as they left the ceremony. He even jumped up for photos with the happy couple!

“When he greeted us at the end, he asked: ‘Take me home. Take me,'” Muzini told TheDodo.com.

The family decided to make the dog a part of their household and gave him an easy name. Caramelo was a perfect name for the pup because of his butterscotch color. However, Muzini and Robert decided that his full name would be Caramelo de Jesus because they credit God for sending him to them.

“He was an important part of our history, and his charisma made the moment even more special,” she added.

Caramelo de Jesus, who now has nearly 17,000 Instagram followers, recently moved in with a married couple. They’re admittedly besotted with him after only sharing one month together. Muzini said: “We’ve had so many adventures with him already and each day is something different and exciting.”

Caramelo is also quite the scamp. “One day he urinates in the kitchen, another day he climbs on top of cars, then he steals his grandmother’s bread and runs away with it,” Muzini added.

“But every day when we leave for work, he’s sad. He greets us with jumps, hugs, and kisses upon our return home though,” she said warmly.

“Having a dog is great practice for an upcoming human child,” Muzini said. “I’m currently training my dog, Caramelo, and he’s doing wonders in preparing me for motherhood.”

“He’s mischievous, but he listens well and is so affectionate. He fills our hearts with joy every day.”
