When Alyssa brought home a rambunctious puppy Pitbull named Mack, her older dog Maya was less than pleased. According to Alyssa, Mack would always attempt to agitate his predecessor in any way he could – it felt like a ‘wrecking ball’ had come barreling into the house!
When Maya first encountered her foster brother Mack, the puppy’s enthusiasm was a surprise to her. He carelessly plopped down on top of Maya without consideration for his elder canine companions’ wellbeing.
Luckily, it only took one day before she adjusted to Mack’s mischievous behavior and learned how to handle him with patience and grace.
It was an instant connection between Maya and Mack, with Mack constantly looking to his new best friend for direction and encouragement. Alyssa couldn’t have been more pleased as she witnessed how the two canines had instantly become devoted companions; Mack would always be close behind Maya, mimicking her every move.
Mack saw Maya as his mother and cherished the time they spent together. Much to her delight, she had a constant companion with Mack around all the time. They treasured each other deeply; however, somewhat surprisingly Mack still believed himself to be a
puppy even after maturing into an adult dog.
Mack liked to plop on Maya like he did when he was younger, an act that usually annoyed others. Surprisingly, though, this never bothered Maya; she enjoyed Mack’s antics and affectionately welcomed them whenever they occurred.
When Mack turned one, Alyssa decided to foster another pup. Despite her initial trepidation regarding how Mack would react to the newcomer, she welcomed a puppy into their family.
Much like Maya had been when she was young and mischievous with him, Mack now got to experience being on the receiving end of some puppy shenanigans!
Maya and Mack were in awe of the new puppies. Taking a cue from Maya, who was very attentive to him when he was small, Mack adopted her behavior towards other dogs. He showed them nothing but kindness, gentle care, and affection – something that he watched Maya do all along.
