Mom Receives Heartfelt Hugs from ‘Grateful’ Rescue Dog Every Day

Kylo Ren is no ordinary dog. He is a sweet and goofy pup who expresses his love for his family in the most affectionate way possible. One of his favorite things to do is to hug his mom and cuddle up on her lap, showing her just how much he adores her.

Despite his loving nature, Kylo had a difficult time finding his forever home. When Kylo was only ten months old, he was taken to the West Memphis Animal Shelter. Luckily, Kylo was rescued by ALIVE Rescue Memphis, a non-profit organization that helps homeless pets find their forever homes.

Kylo spent many years living with a foster family, but the rescue group was shocked that Kylo didn’t receive any adoption applications. Finally, after some time, Meghan Sweers saw Kylo’s picture on Facebook and felt that he was meant to be with her. Kylo passed the test and made himself right at home when sent to Sweers’ home.

Sweers and her husband discovered some of Kylo’s funny quirks after he was adopted, such as his fear of hardwood floors. Sweers had to cover the entire house in rugs to make him feel comfortable. Another unique trait that Kylo embodies is his loving personality which makes him great with people of all ages.

Because Kylo is a bully breed dog, Sweers’ relatives were anxious about him at first. But Kylo proved them wrong with his friendly nature and cuddliness. He even managed to change Sweers’ views on bully breeds, as many of her family members who had been prejudiced against them have come to love him after experiencing his loving nature.

Kylo loves making new friends and is always eager to play with new people, but he is a mama’s boy at heart. Every night he waits at the door for Sweers to come home from work. When Sweers arrives, he greets her with hugs and cuddles. Kylo just loves attention and is happiest when he’s sitting on his mother’s lap.

Sweers learned that Kylo is best left alone for cuddling. She shared her experiences with The Dodo, “If I don’t sit down for our cuddle times, he follows me everywhere with the saddest and most pathetic expression on his face until I give in and hold him.”

Kylo is a wonderful example of how bully-breed dogs are intelligent and can make great family pets. Bully breed dogs like the American Pit Bull Terriers, Boxers, and Bulldogs are known to have small muzzles, large bones, and strong muscles, descended from the ancient Greek Molosser lineage. Although some people believe that bully-breed dogs are aggressive, Kylo is proof that they are very loving and friendly dogs.

Kylo is more than a dog. He’s a lovable and goofy character who has touched the hearts of everyone who meets him. Kylo is not only dispelling stereotypes about bully breeds, but he’s also changing the way people think about what qualities make a good family pet.
